Quadras
Quadras are a part of socionics, developed by Russian scientists.
The socion breaks up into four different quadras of four types each. For socionics, the last letter (J or P) is lowercased and you may have a different last letter in socionics depending on what quadra you are. If you are an INFP in MBTI, you are either an INFp [Beta quadra] or INFj [Delta quadra] in socionics. INFp is abbreviated as IEI [Intuitive Ethical Introtim], and INFj is abbreviated as EII [Ethical Intuitive Introtim] in socionics.
The reason that the last letter can be different is due to the slightly different nature of socionics and MBTI. Instead of Judging/Perceiving, socionics refers to it as either rational/irrational.
The four quadras are Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta.
xSFx and xNTx types are in either Alpha or Gamma quadras. xSTx and xNFx types are in either Beta or Delta quadras.
Alpha Quadra: ILE (ENTp), SEI (ISFp), ESE (ESFj), LII (INTj)
Beta Quadra: SLE (ESTp) IEI (INFp) EIE (ENFj) LSI (ISTj)
Gamma Quadra: SEE (ESFp), ILI (INTp), LIE (ENTj), ESI (ISFj)
Delta Quadra: IEE (ENFp), SLI (ISTP), LSE (ESTj,) EII (INFj)
I am ENTj [LIE and Gamma Quadra] in socionics.
Descriptions of Quadras
Quadra descriptions are notoriously difficult. I gave it my best shot.
Alpha – Alphas generally talk about theoretical concepts for fun. They value logical beliefs. Alphas are vibrant and merry people. They talk about stories in detail. They sometimes feel energized by the atmosphere of social events [extroverts]. They don’t like discussing controversial subjects when in large groups of people. They also don’t like accepting life advice, liking to figure it out for themselves.
Beta – Betas are warm and decisive. They look for rules that cover general applications and are more confident when analyzing real life situations instead of abstract scenarios. They like warm group activities, especially when surrounded by people who share the same beliefs. They don’t enjoy talking about their own inner feelings in groups of people. Betas often enjoy competition.
Gamma – Gammas are decisive and often serious, although there are also fun-loving Gammas. They generally take a firm approach to ethics and punishment. Gammas like to talk about personal things in a realistic way. They discuss the future, valuing long term and broad benefits. Typically, Gammas prefer smaller groups of people. Sometimes they appear as introverts because of this.
Delta – Deltas are peaceful and serious. They do not do well in high pressure situations where they face threats. Deltas dislike drama or emotion, also tending to talk in a ‘telling it as it is’ manner. They make known the motivation behind their actions, and enjoy keeping their inner and outer worlds balanced. Deltas tend to rely on themselves instead of group effort or speculation.
Any questions, just ask.
